This morning (1 March), all three terminals of Dusseldorf Airport were evacuated after three passengers were able to enter the secured area of the terminal without the required security check. According to German media, the situation was quite chaotic. The incident occurred at 07:00 (UTC +1). Meanwhile, two people have been arrested and the police is still looking for the third suspect.
The airport authorities decided to clear the secured area of the airport and to let all passengers go through the security check again, even passengers that already sat down on their aircraft seat had to re-pass the check. Around 08:30, the airport resumed operations in terminal A and C. Passengers are now facing long queues and subsequent flight delays as air traffic was restricted for about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
