Aviation24.be discovered a video on social media concerning staff performing some runway works at Silvio Pettirossi (Asuncion) Airport, Paraguay. Moments later the situation almost leads to a disaster.
The men are filling a hole on the runway until suddenly a Gulfstream (400 or 450) approaches. At ease, they are making way for the aircraft to land. A screenshot of the video shows that the car is close to the aircraft’s flaps and right hand main landing gear.
According to the Dirección Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil (DINAC) the incident occurred already 4 to 5 years ago, but the video just went viral. Édgar Melgarejo, head of DINAC said to investigate the incident, but didn’t provide more information.
