Copenhagen Airport welcomed 9.65 million passengers in June–August 2025, the busiest summer in its 100-year history and a 7% increase on last year. August alone saw 3.2 million travelers, up 8% year-on-year.
- International travellers made up the majority, with Danes accounting for 35%, Swedes 15%, and Americans and Britons 8% each.
- Transfer traffic grew 21%, with nearly 2 million passengers connecting via Copenhagen, strengthening the airport’s role as a Northern European hub.
- The airport now offers 334 routes worldwide, enhancing Denmark’s global connectivity and appeal to businesses.
Traffic between Denmark and the USA hit a record 460,000 passengers this summer, up 15%. With new routes to Minneapolis and Seattle, Copenhagen now offers its largest-ever U.S. network, contributing to a surge in American tourism—overnight stays in Danish hotels rose 13% in the first half of 2025.
Commercial Director Peter Krogsgaard said the record reflects strong global demand for travel and highlights Copenhagen’s growing importance as both a gateway to Scandinavia and a transatlantic hub.
