Copenhagen Airport handled a record 9.9 million passengers during June, July and August, an increase of 3% compared with summer 2025. August alone accounted for 3.3 million travellers.
Southern Europe remained particularly popular. Spain was the largest summer market with 789,000 passengers, up 3%, followed by Italy with 714,000, representing growth of 10%. France, Greece and Türkiye completed the five leading Mediterranean markets, which together generated 2.9 million passengers.
Long-haul traffic also grew, rising by 5% to 1.5 million passengers. Asian routes contributed significantly following the introduction of direct services to Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul and additional frequencies to Tokyo, Shanghai and Beijing.
Approximately eight in ten passengers travelled within Europe. Copenhagen offered 37 long-haul routes during the summer, serving destinations across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and North America. Airport management expects strong demand for Asian services to continue during the winter season.
