Copenhagen Airport handled a record 3.2 million passengers in September 2026, up 4% compared with the same month last year. The airport attributed the growth to increased connecting traffic and sustained demand for holidays and city breaks beyond the summer peak.
Norway was Copenhagen’s largest market, with 270,000 passengers, followed by Spain with 255,000 and the UK with 245,000. Direct traffic between Copenhagen and the United States rose 8% to 140,000 passengers. SAS, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines operate 12 routes linking the airport with 10 US destinations.
The airport expects around 1.1 million passengers during the autumn school holiday period beginning on 9 October, with more than 115,000 travellers on the busiest days. London leads demand for city breaks, while Spain, Italy and France are the most popular southern European holiday markets.
Copenhagen Airport recommends arriving two hours before departure for flights within the Schengen area and three hours before flights outside Europe. Passengers are also encouraged to check in online and monitor flight information through the airport’s website or app.
