A work stoppage by baggage handling staff employed by Aviator Airport Alliance has disrupted operations at Copenhagen Airport, causing delays in unloading arriving aircraft and delivering baggage to passengers.
According to airport officials, Aviator baggage handlers stopped work at around 17:00 to attend a meeting. As a result, aircraft for which Aviator is responsible cannot currently be unloaded, leading to extended waiting times for arriving passengers.
Airport spokesperson Jens Ehlers said the airport could not yet provide a timeline for when normal operations would resume or whether the disruption might lead to flight cancellations. However, the expectation is that work will restart as soon as possible.
Passengers affected by the delays are being advised to remain in the baggage reclaim area while waiting for their luggage. Those unable to stay are urged to make arrangements directly with Aviator staff before leaving the airport.
The disruption currently appears to be limited to baggage handling operations rather than flight movements, but arriving passengers should expect delays in receiving checked baggage until the situation is resolved.
