CATEGORY – AIRPORTS WELCOMING FEWER THAN 10 MILLION PASSENGERS/YEAR

This month, the OAG, a recognised neutral, international organisation in the air travel industry, released its report on airport punctuality around the world. Brussels South Charleroi Airport, the country’s most accessible airport with extensive operational experience, managed second place, after Bristol airport in the United Kingdom. Throughout 2014 in Charleroi, 93.1% of flights were on time.

Based in Luton, with offices in the USA, China, Japan and Singapore, the OAG enjoys a fantastic reputation in the air travel industry and offers all stakeholders a whole host of information about flight times in real time, punctuality and lots of other subjects. The OAG Punctuality League 2014 report is based on 43.5 million flights around the world. Listed as one of the “small airports” (defined as welcoming fewer than 10,000,000 passengers/year), Brussels South Charleroi Airport came second behind Bristol (1) and ahead of Berlin Schönefeld (3).

This achievement gives our staff a great boost and highlights the quality of the work all the teams do at BSCA every single day. Jean-Jacques Cloquet, BSCA’s CEO, is incredibly proud of the work that his teams have done: “The OAG Punctuality League 2014 report once again confirms BSCA’s know-how, skills and operational performance. According to the results within our category, BSCA exceeds the average, coming second with 93.1% of flights on time or taking off/landing within a quarter of an hour of the scheduled time. We are thrilled with these results, which once again prove that punctuality is one of the major benefits that we offer; a benefit to our passengers as well as to our airlines.”
