Pilatus PC-12 tire burst temporarily closes runway at Brussels South Charleroi Airport

On 25 March around 13:35 (UTC +1), a Pilatus PC-12/47E (F-HDBL / cn 1362), had a right tire burst, during landing at Brussels South Charleroi Airport.

The aircraft got stuck on runway 24 for about 45 minutes while a new tire was being placed under the aircraft. Two aircraft were forced to divert to Liège Airport:

  • Wizz Air flight W64327 from Sofia
  • Ryanair flight FR1196 from Athens

A third aircraft, a Ryanair Boeing 737 from Barcelona delayed its landing and was the first to land after the incident. A Pegasus Airlines Airbus A320 was the first to leave to Istanbul.
