New record for Brussels South Charleroi Airport: 710,149 passengers recorded in September 2017 (+10%)

September 2017 came to an end with two-figure growth. 10% more passengers crossed the tarmac at BSCA during the ninth month of the year, compared with the same period in 2016. 710,149 passengers were recorded this year, against 646,715 in September 2016.

This 10% increase in passenger numbers can be explained by a rise in occupancy rates at BSCA. These were around 90%, so a 2% increase compared to the same period in 2016.
The number of travellers continued to grow in September. Despite the problems encountered in September, the number of travellers welcomed at Brussels South Charleroi Airport has continued to grow. 710,749 passengers passed through Brussels South Charleroi Airport, so 10% more than in September 2016, when 646,715 passengers were recorded.

When it comes to the most popular countries available from/to Brussels South Charleroi Airport, it was Spain that came out on top in September, followed by Italy, France and Morocco. There was a change in fifth place, with Poland being replaced by Romania.

Jean-Jacques CLOQUET, CEO of Brussels South Charleroi Airport, confirms:

September saw its fair share of nice and nasty surprises. This ninth month of the year wasn’t easy for anyone, and our organisation has been reviewed in accordance with the current climate. However, we have seen healthy two-figure growth in passenger numbers, reassuring us of the quality of the work done by all of our staff and partners. Our current diversification policy is bearing fruit, which is encouraging us to continue down this path so that we can continue to innovate and offer our customers even more services and destinations.
