Brussels South Charleroi Airport becomes a transit hub for passengers. From today, Ryanair is launching a connection service via Brussels Charleroi from 15 cities in the Ryanair network, including Alicante, Budapest, Milan Bergamo and Prague. Passengers can now arrive at and depart from Brussels South Charleroi Airport while remaining in a new, specially designed transit zone. This new path for passengers on connecting flights will simplify the experience and offer new opportunities for European travel, via BSCA.

Following various studies into the adaptation of the infrastructure, Brussels South Charleroi Airport is now able to introduce a connection service. Passengers will be able to remain in the international zone before taking a flight to a destination served by Brussels Charleroi without having to worry about their bags.

Transit passengers will be able to check in from their departure airport through to their end destination. They will have their boarding passes and will be able to go directly to the gate for their connecting flight. Their bags will be checked through to their end destination and conveyed automatically to the aircraft in question. Passengers can now travel to a wider range of destinations.

Ryanair is extending its network via Brussels South Charleroi Airport to 27 routes:

Yann DELOMEZ, Sales & Marketing Manager France, Benelux and Morocco, said: « Ryanair is pleased to launch our connecting flights’ service at Brussels Charleroi Airport with 27 routes available, including services to/from Alicante, Budapest, Milan Bergamo and Prague, offering our customers even more low fare choice. Customers flying on these routes will be able to transfer onto their next flight at Brussels Charleroi without having to go landside and will have their bags checked through to their final destination. To celebrate our extended connecting flights’ service, we are releasing seats for sale from just €24.99 for travel between May and July, which must be booked by midnight Saturday (13 Apr). Since these amazing low fares will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com and avoid missing out. »

From the perspective of Brussels South Charleroi Airport, this new service opens up a multitude of possibilities. Patrick LAMBRECHTS, Chief Executive Officer Ad Interim of Brussels South Charleroi Airport, explained: « Passenger demand was there and our network of over 180 destinations is ideal for connecting flights. Following various analyses, we chose to adapt the arrivals path in order to offer passengers the ability to transit through our facilities on their way to one of our destinations. The connecting flights’ service offered by Ryanair via a single booking means that we hope to be able to welcome many passengers to Brussels South Charleroi Airport and enable them to travel to their onward destination smoothly and quickly. »
