According to a source close to the investigation, the defendant wanted to “shoot down police officers with a Kalashnikov” and “blow up police stations“. After that threat an investigation was opened and the airport access badge of the defendant was immediately deactivated, according to newspaper Sudpresse. During a series of wire taps the investigators discovered that the baggage handler also put pressure on other staff to favor the recruitment of ‘non-Belgians‘.
On November 17, the suspect has been arrested for inciting a terrorist attack and for criminal organization. Another investigation has been opened for harassment and discrimination when recruiting.
As a result of the case, BSCA will hold a special board meeting this evening.
