Brussels South Charleroi Airport (BSCA) is continuing to grow in 2019. The airport reported another increase in passenger traffic in March. 602,184 passengers have passed through BSCA this year, up from 584,880 in March 2018, an increase of 3%. Load factors for the third month of the year stand at 90%, an increase of 3% on 2018.
In March 2019, flights to and from Italy remained popular, making it the number 1 destination at Brussels South Charleroi Airport. Spain came in at second place on the rankings, followed by Morocco, France and Poland.
For the first quarter, Brussels South Charleroi Airport closed in the green. In comparison with 2018, the January-March 2019 period saw an increase of 3%. 1,671,285 passengers have taxied down the BSCA runway this quarter, up from 1,624,206 in the first quarter of 2018.
Patrick LAMBRECHTS, Chief Executive Officer ad interim of Brussels South Charleroi Airport, states: « After a somewhat turbulent first quarter, these results are in line with our forecasts. The 3% increase in the first quarter, including the month of March, is the result of the high-quality work of all our employees. Our airlines are continuing to grow with the addition of four new routes already announced this year. Development is continuing at the airport, with work on our new commercial area well underway, to offer new services and other additional products to travellers. »
