In April 2025, Brussels Airport welcomed 2,122,695 passengers, marking an 8.5% increase compared to April 2024. The rise was driven by the Easter holidays in the Flemish education system and the start of spring breaks in the French-speaking community and the Netherlands. This growth came despite disruptions caused by the national strike on April 29.
Transfer passengers accounted for around 12% of departing travelers, mainly on routes to and from Africa and North America. The top ten most popular destinations included Spain, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Morocco, Portugal, France, the United States, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Cargo volumes also saw strong growth, with a total of 69,617 tonnes handled, up 11% year-on-year. Air cargo increased by 11% to 58,855 tonnes. Belly cargo rose by 19%, while express services surged by 27%. Trucked freight also grew by 12%, although full freighter volumes declined by 9%. Asia, Africa, and North America remained the leading import and export regions.
