Brussels Airport strengthens Asia network with Air China from March 2026

Brussels Airport will welcome Air China from March 2026. The Chinese national carrier will operate two key destinations: Beijing and Chengdu, with Chengdu becoming a new destination for passengers departing from Brussels. As a member of the Star Alliance, Air China’s launch further strengthens Brussels Airport’s role as a European hub within the alliance.

Starting in March 2026, Air China will offer direct flights from Brussels Airport to Beijing, China’s political and cultural capital, and to Chengdu. While Brussels has previously operated cargo flights to Chengdu, passenger services will now be available. Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, is renowned for its cuisine, scenic landscapes, and the giant panda research center. Tianfu Airport, opened in 2021, is designed to develop into one of China’s largest hubs.

The schedule begins on 24 March 2026 with five weekly flights to Beijing, moving to a daily service from 29 March for the summer season. Flights to Chengdu will operate three times a week starting 26 March. The new schedule caters to both business and leisure travelers.

These routes further strengthen Brussels Airport’s intercontinental network. Following the recent launch of direct flights to Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Chongqing, Air China expands the airport’s connectivity to Asia. From Beijing and Chengdu, passengers can connect to numerous destinations across China and Asia through Air China’s network.

“We are delighted to welcome Air China to Brussels Airport with direct flights to Beijing and Chengdu. These new routes enrich our Asian and intercontinental network and strengthen our ties with China. They improve connectivity for passengers and businesses alike and support cultural and economic relations between our countries. We look forward to a fruitful and sustainable partnership,” said Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport.
