Brussels Airport welcomed over 2.17 million passengers in June 2025, marking a 4% increase year-on-year. This growth came despite disruption from a national trade union strike on June 25 that halted all departing passenger flights. Over the first half of 2025, more than 11.2 million passengers used the airport, though five nationwide actions led to over 230,000 flight cancellations.
Transfer passengers made up about 15% of departures, especially on routes to Africa and North America. Spain, Italy, and Greece topped the list of most popular destinations.
Cargo volumes recorded a strong 18% rise in June, reaching 63,200 tonnes. Flown cargo increased by 25.5%, with full freighter activity up 46% and integrator services rising 27.4%. Asia, Africa, and North America remained key import and export regions.
Flight movements grew by 5%, driven by a notable 11% increase in cargo operations. The average number of passengers per flight climbed to 147.
