A woman at Brussels Airport abandoned her American Bully, Pako, after being denied boarding due to breed restrictions. Instead of seeking alternatives, she sent the dog by taxi to the Veeweyde shelter in Anderlecht without providing any health or behavioural details.

Shelter officials condemned the act as “wild abandonment,” a criminal offence in Belgium. Pako, registered in France, is in good health but stressed. The shelter has contacted the owner’s relatives and warned that reclaiming the dog would require assurances of proper care, while legal consequences for the abandonment remain possible.
