On Friday 14 December a national demonstration takes place in Belgium. Consequently, Brussels Airport expects serious disruptions on its operations: reduced capacity of baggage handling, de-icing of aircraft and during check-in of several airlines. Public transport may be disrupted as well.
The airport gave the following advice for passengers:
- If you are travelling from Brussels Airport on 14 December, we recommend to contact your airline for confirmation of your flight.
- Expect and prepare for longer waiting times.
- Travel with carry-on baggage only. Respect the restrictions regarding dimensions and weight set by your airline. Please keep in mind that only a limited amount of liquids and gels is permitted in your hand baggage. Leave for the airport well ahead of your departure time.
Brussels Airport apologizes for the inconvenience caused: “Brussels Airport and its partners will do everything in their power to limit the impact of the demonstration on the passengers.”
