The Sheraton hotel at Brussels Airport was temporarily evacuated overnight after a fire broke out in the underground car park, local fire services confirmed. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were called shortly after 00:30 following reports of a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, crews determined that the blaze had originated in a technical room within the underground facility rather than in a car. Due to heavy smoke and reduced visibility in the car park, the hotel’s 175 guests were evacuated as a precaution and sheltered in the airport’s departure hall.
The fire was brought under control, and the building was fully ventilated. After carbon monoxide levels were checked and declared safe, guests were allowed to return to their rooms.
