Fighting against millions of euros losses: a new race against time has started at Brussels Airport

Brussels Airport has been successfully relaunched. But now a new race begins against time. To reduce the losses, all 77 airlines urgently need to be back on board and the waiting times should be shorter.

Yesterday the first six flights departed and landed at Brussels Airport, today there are about 25 flights scheduled and tomorrow more than 100. “Thanks to the hard work of our phenomenal team, we are back,” says Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport . “But we realise that we have run only 200 meters of the marathon.” Already one company – Delta Air Lines – has put one of its two routes to Brussels on hold until at least next year. The fear is that other carriers revise their offer in the long term. It is already heard in the corridors that the Japanese airline ANA intends to withdraw. Frightened tourists from Japan have little desire for Brussels. Big players who drop out, that is bad advertising. “We do our best to accommodate everyone in the coming weeks, to give everyone something,” said Feist. “Balance is needed. They need to know that they are important, Brussels Airport does not revolve around a single company. ”
