A bomb threat reported Tuesday afternoon at Brussels Airport triggered a coordinated security response but did not result in an evacuation, according to federal police.
Authorities conducted a full search of the airport facilities using explosive detection dogs after analysing messages related to the threat. Patrols were deployed as part of precautionary administrative police measures. No suspicious items were found.
A coordination meeting involving federal police, fire services, medical teams and the airport inspectorate was held at 14:15. Judicial authorities were informed and a formal investigation has been opened.
A follow-up meeting at 16:30 confirmed the situation was under control, and the bomb threat was officially lifted at 17:00. Police presence remained visible at the airport through the evening, with detection dogs kept on standby as a precaution.
