Brussels Airport and Hyderabad International Airport have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen air cargo ties between Belgium and India, with a focus on pharmaceuticals and life sciences.
The airports plan to share expertise, bring their industry partners closer together and identify opportunities to improve cargo connectivity. There is currently no direct air service between Brussels and Hyderabad, and the agreement does not announce one.
Brussels Airport says it has 45,000 square metres of temperature-controlled storage space. Hyderabad is a major centre for pharmaceutical manufacturing, vaccines and research. The agreement was signed with the support of Flanders Investment & Trade; the airports expect to develop specific cargo initiatives in the coming months.
