Brussels Airport has strengthened its cargo infrastructure with the inauguration of a new logistics facility developed in partnership with ConnexEurope, which will serve as the company’s Belgian headquarters.
Located in the airport’s cargo zone, the new site consolidates ConnexEurope’s local operations under one roof, bringing together warehousing and office functions to improve coordination across its European and Africa-focused logistics activities. The company, formerly known as Comexas, has been active at Brussels Airport since the 1990s and specialises in multimodal transport, including air and sea freight, customs handling, and complex cargo operations.
The facility comprises approximately 3,400 square metres of warehouse space and 500 square metres of offices, designed to streamline daily operations and support future growth. Sustainability played a central role in the project, with the building achieving BREEAM Excellent certification—reflecting strong performance in energy efficiency and environmental impact.
Airport officials say the development aligns with broader efforts to modernise cargo infrastructure while supporting long-term partnerships. ConnexEurope, which currently employs around 25 people on site, is also expanding its workforce as it scales up operations.
From its new Brussels hub, the company will manage a wide range of logistics flows, including air freight via passenger and cargo aircraft, charter services, sea freight, and specialised shipments such as perishables and project cargo—particularly for industries like mining in Africa.
The launch marks a new phase for ConnexEurope, combining a rebrand with expanded capabilities, while reinforcing Brussels Airport’s position as a key European logistics gateway.
