Brussels Airport named Europe’s best cargo airport at AFLAS Awards

Share

Brussels Airport has been recognised as the Best Airport in Europe at the 2026 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards, reaffirming its position as one of the continent’s leading air cargo hubs.

The award, presented in Shanghai by the industry publication Air Cargo News, recognises excellence across the global logistics sector, including airports, seaports and supply chain operators. Brussels Airport prevailed over strong competition from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Frankfurt Airport and Istanbul Airport. This marks the fourth time that Brussels Airport has received the distinction, having previously won in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

According to Brussels Airport, the award reflects the strong performance of its cargo community, with total cargo volumes increasing by 8.5% in 2025 compared with the previous year. The airport attributed its continued growth to ongoing investments in key cargo segments, digital infrastructure, sustainable real estate developments and innovation initiatives.

The latest accolade further strengthens Brussels Airport’s reputation as a preferred European gateway for air freight and highlights the airport’s continued focus on expanding and modernising its cargo operations.
