The fifth edition of the Aviato Jobfair, organised today in the iconic Skyhall at Brussels Airport, has attracted a record 6,000 visitors, confirming its growing role as a key employment platform for the airport and the wider regional economy.
Jointly organised by Aviato, the employment centre of Brussels Airport, together with Brussels Airport Company, VDAB, Actiris, Voka KvK Vlaams-Brabant, POM Vlaams-Brabant and the sector funds SFAL and SFTL, the event brought together jobseekers, students and career changers from across Belgium. Visitors were able to explore more than 400 airport-related vacancies, alongside hundreds of job opportunities in other sectors in the surrounding region.
With panoramic views of the tarmac as a backdrop, more than 50 companies showcased their vacancies, ranging from aviation and logistics to security, hospitality and technical services. Major employers present included Brussels Airport Company, G4S, Securitas, Safran, Orizio, Eligio, Nippon Express and Swissport Cargo Services, alongside many other organisations active at or around the airport.
“With over 50 participating companies and a record 6,000 registrations, the Aviato Jobfair is reaching job seekers at and around the airport – and far beyond,” said Inge Spincemaille, General Manager of Aviato. “Thanks to the strong partnership with VDAB, Actiris and Le Forem, we are reaching an even wider audience, with more than half of visitors coming from Brussels.”
Employers echoed that enthusiasm. “The Aviato Jobfair is a hit for us year after year,” said Kim Fannoy, Talent Management & HR Responsible at Eligio. “Each edition brings us into contact with strong hospitality profiles for the many opportunities at and around Brussels Airport. A true win-win.”
The most sought-after profiles span a wide range of roles, from manual and technical jobs to administrative and white-collar positions. Demand remains particularly high for customs officers, security staff, cargo and logistics personnel, as well as chefs, hospitality workers and sales staff.
On the cargo side of the airport, logistics talent is especially in demand. Nippon Express Belgium, a first-time participant, highlighted the strategic value of the event. “For us, the Aviato Jobfair is a great opportunity to connect with new logistics talent,” said Jennifer Roggeman, HR Officer. “We want to show how versatile and exciting working in the cargo area of Brussels Airport can be.”
A highlight of the day was a live demonstration by the airport police and their sniffer dogs, offering visitors a glimpse into the diversity of roles supporting airport operations.
Aviato continues to play a central role in promoting interregional labour mobility. This year’s figures underline that impact: 54% of visitors came from the Brussels-Capital Region, 41% from Flanders and 5% from Wallonia.
For candidates who do not yet meet all job requirements, information stands from LOGOS, GTB, Actiris, VDAB, Le Forem and Beroepenpunt provided guidance on training and upskilling opportunities. Through tailored programmes, Aviato and its partners help jobseekers prepare for shortage occupations that are often difficult to fill due to skills, language requirements or atypical working hours.
“At Aviato, we tackle shortage occupations in a targeted way,” explained Inge Spincemaille. “Together with employers and partners, we organise job cafés, customised training programmes and sector working groups in areas such as logistics, technology, security and airport policing. Our goal is to strengthen the airport community while offering sustainable career opportunities.”
As a one-stop shop for employment, Aviato connects companies and talent both within and beyond the airport ecosystem. In 2025 alone, 157 initiatives were launched, ranging from company visits and Airport Job Discovery sessions to job fairs, information events and training programmes.
The record turnout at this year’s Jobfair confirms Aviato’s expanding reach — and the continued appeal of Brussels Airport as a dynamic employment hub at the heart of Belgium and Europe.
