Today Wednesday 27 March, passengers traveling via Belgian airports can expect disturbances.
First, due to industrial actions at Belgian air traffic control company skeyes traffic to and from Brussels Airport may be delayed.
Then, the European Transport Workers’ Federation is organizing a manifestation in Brussels. Depending on how many staff will participate in the manifestation, baggage handling may be disrupted. On the possible disruptions Brussels Airport said: “Please contact your airline for any specific travel advice. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
Brussels Airlines informs passenger that if they are departing from Brussels Airport to travel with hand luggage only. VTM, a Belgian TV station today announced that the social actions of the air traffic controllers already costed Brussels Airlines €4 million.
Between 14:30 and 15:30 (UTC +1), Antwerp Airport tower will be closed for air traffic.
Finally, air traffic control will be suspended at Brussels South Charleroi Airport between 08:00 and 10:00 (UTC +1). No flights will arrive/depart at the airport, except for emergency and medical flights.
