In January 2017, almost 2.3 million passengers flew from Schönefeld and Tegel. That’s 11.5 % more than in the same period in the previous year. Schönefeld Airport saw the number of passengers increase by 26.5 %, at Tegel the same figure was 3.6 %.
The latest traffic report contains the figures for passengers, flights and air cargo for January 2017, as well as a comparison with the same period in the previous year.
Traffic Figures January 2017
- Passengers: In January 2017, some 2,269,215 passengers passed through Berlin’s Schönefeld and Tegel airports. That’s an increase of 11.5 % compared with January 2016. A total of 891,822 passengers (+26.5 %) flew from Schönefeld, whilst 1,377,393 passengers (+3.6 %) flew from Tegel.
- Flights: The number of flights at Berlin’s Schönefeld and Tegel airports rose to 21,246 take-offs and landings, an increase of 6.9 % compared with the same period in the previous year. At Schönefeld, the number of flights grew to 7,735 (+17.8 %). At Tegel, the number of flights grew to 13,511 (+1.6 %).
- Air cargo: 3,893 tonnes of air cargo was recorded in January 2017 at Schönefeld and Tegel airports, that’s an increase of 15 % compared with January 2016. The volume of air cargo at Schönefeld reached 749 tonnes, that’s 29.1 % more than in January 2016. Tegel recorded 3,144 tonnes (+12,1 %) of air cargo.
