A technical malfunction at an external passenger handling system provider is still affecting Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), leading to occasional longer waits at check-in, boarding, and baggage handling. However, alternative procedures are working well, and overall operations are calm and smooth, with delays similar to a normal day.
Most airlines are operating smoothly, although some still rely on manual check-in, which can cause minor delays. Passengers are advised to use online check-in, self-service kiosks, and Fast Bag Drop stations to avoid queues.
With the Berlin Marathon bringing extra travellers on Sunday afternoon and Monday, the airport reminds runners to stow medals in carry-on luggage during security checks to prevent delays.
