Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) welcomed nearly 2.44 million passengers in August 2025, about 52,000 more than the same month last year. Aircraft movements also rose slightly to 16,817, while freight volumes grew by 920 tonnes year-on-year to almost 5,000 tonnes.
Across the entire Berlin summer holiday period, 3.73 million travellers used BER, up 130,000 from 2024. The busiest day was 5 September, with around 91,400 passengers.
CEO Aletta von Massenbach highlighted smooth holiday operations, crediting new CT scanners and upgraded security lanes in Terminal 1. By the end of the holidays, 24 lanes had been converted—two-thirds of travellers benefited, typically passing security in under ten minutes.
