EuroAirport (Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg) handled over 2.4 million passengers during the 2025 summer vacation period, marking a 9% increase from last year and setting a new record.
August 8 was the busiest day ever, with 36,802 travellers passing through the airport. Popular destinations included Mediterranean resorts and major European cities.
Despite thunderstorms and temporary European air traffic control constraints, operations ran smoothly, with moderate security and border waiting times. The airport’s 2024 measures, including slot coordination and the ECRA procedure with Eurocontrol, helped stabilise traffic flows and maintain operational quality.
Managing Director Tobias Market praised the staff and partners for ensuring a stable and pleasant travel experience amid a challenging period.
