Athens International Airport handled a record 33.99 million passengers in 2025, marking a 6.7% increase compared with the previous all-time high of 31.85 million in 2024.
International travel was the main growth driver, with 24.36 million passengers, up 8.6% year-on-year, accounting for nearly three-quarters of total traffic. The strongest source markets were the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Italy, while passenger numbers also grew from long-haul markets without direct air links, including Australia, South Korea, Japan and Latin America.
Domestic traffic showed more moderate growth, rising 2.2% to 9.63 million passengers.
The results underline Athens Airport’s continued expansion as a major regional hub, supported by strong inbound tourism demand and growing long-haul connectivity.
