A pilot and a flight attendant were temporarily banned from flying after alcohol checks at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on Saturday morning.
The flight attendant exceeded the legal blood alcohol limit of 0.2 per mille, was fined €1,100 by prosecutors and received a five-hour flight ban. The pilot had consumed alcohol but remained below the legal limit; authorities imposed a one-hour ban, while the airline barred him from duty for the rest of the day.
The checks were part of routine inspections carried out by the Aviation Supervision Team and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, during which 212 cabin and cockpit crew members were screened.
