Schiphol Airport and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines brace for storm Aileen; flight delays and cancellations

Due to storm Aileen Schiphol Airport is forced to close down some runways, including Polderbaan. Air traffic control is expecting a high reduction of traffic at the airport. The wind is currently 28 knots from the Southwest with gusts up to 42 knots. As a precaution KLM Royal Dutch Airlines cancelled around 60 intra-European flights, intercontinental flights are still maintained.
