September saw over 6.2 million passengers travelling to, from or via Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This is an increase of 6.7% relative to last year. That increase was driven by a sharp growth in the number of O&D passengers* (9.2%), as well as a slight growth in transfer (2.5%).
The total number of passenger flights increased by 2.4%, while there were 6.0% more cargo movements than there were last year. Partially due to the higher load factor of full freighters, the total cargo volume saw an increase of 10.9%.
Of the over 6.2 million passengers, 4.5 million were travelling within Europe. Furthermore, there were 1.7 million intercontinental passengers this September, which was 5.0% more than in September of last year.
