Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has decided to take direct responsibility for assistance services for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM), bringing the operation under airport management from early 2028.

The move will give Schiphol greater control over service quality, continuity and future development as demand for PRM assistance continues to grow. Currently, around 1,000 employees of Axxicom Airport Caddy, part of Facilicom Groep, provide these services, helping approximately 750,000 passengers each year at the airport.

Schiphol praised Axxicom Airport Caddy for more than 20 years of dedicated service since taking over the operation in 2003. The airport and Facilicom Groep will now work together on a gradual transition, ensuring continuity for passengers and job security for employees.

All Axxicom Airport Caddy staff will retain employment, with Schiphol and Facilicom consulting closely with unions during the handover process. Until the transition is completed, Axxicom Airport Caddy will continue to provide passenger assistance services as usual.
