Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has opened its largest Privium lounge to date, offering premium travellers a new space to work, relax or refresh before departing on Schengen flights.
The new Privium ClubLounge South, which opens on 6 August, is located near the B, C and future A gates and covers more than 800 square metres, accommodating up to 125 guests. It becomes the fourth Privium lounge at Schiphol and the largest in the airport’s premium lounge network.
Designed by interior architects D/DOCK, the lounge has been created specifically for Privium Plus members, with dedicated areas for both productivity and relaxation. Facilities include quiet workspaces, meeting rooms, a shower, comfortable seating and an extensive selection of complimentary food and beverages.
Later this year, Schiphol will further enhance the experience by opening an exclusive security lane that will lead directly into the lounge, allowing Privium members to move more quickly from the departure hall to the lounge and onwards to their departure gate.
“The time our members spend at Schiphol is becoming increasingly valuable,” said Franc Vink, Head of Schiphol Premium Services. “With this lounge, we offer Privium members a place to prepare for their journey, work in a quiet environment or simply recharge before their flight.“
The new lounge introduces an updated food and beverage concept designed to match travellers’ needs throughout the day. Guests can enjoy breakfast and barista-made coffee in the morning, followed by freshly prepared sandwiches, salads and a variety of hot and cold meals later in the day.
Schiphol said the greater use of individually portioned food will help better match passenger demand while reducing food waste.
Although the lounge is primarily intended for Privium Plus members, passengers without a Privium membership will also be able to purchase access through a Lounge Voucher, subject to availability.
The opening coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Privium programme, reinforcing Schiphol’s strategy of enhancing premium services and offering passengers greater choice and comfort throughout their airport journey.
