Amsterdam Airport Schiphol appeals ruling on Extinction Rebellion access ban

Share

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has filed an appeal against a court ruling that overturned access bans imposed on members of the Friends of Extinction Rebellion foundation.

The airport argues that protests inside restricted security areas endanger passenger and staff safety, create risks of abuse by malicious actors, and violate strict international security rules.

Schiphol stresses that demonstrations remain permitted in designated areas, but sanctions are necessary for anyone attempting unauthorised entry to ensure airport safety and smooth operations.
