Swedavia’s April 2025 traffic statistics show continued strong growth in international travel and a steady return to pre-pandemic levels, with around 2.6 million passengers passing through its ten airports—roughly equal to April 2024 and 82% of 2019 volumes. International travel rose by 3%, fueled by Easter holidays, while domestic travel declined, especially in southern Sweden.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport led the rebound with a 6% rise in traffic over April 2024, hitting 96% of 2019 levels. Domestic travel at Arlanda surged 22%, while international traffic rose 3%. Gothenburg Landvetter saw stable international volumes but a 9% drop in domestic travel. Northern regional airports—Luleå, Kiruna, and Umeå—recorded the strongest growth.
To meet rising demand, 20 new international routes will be added between April and June. Airlines like Ryanair, Norwegian, SAS, Ajet, and Icelandair are expanding operations, including Ryanair adding more aircraft and Norwegian reopening its Arlanda pilot base.
