Swedavia’s ten Swedish airports handled 3.11 million passengers in October 2026, up 2% year-on-year, as stronger international demand offset declining domestic traffic. International passenger numbers rose 3% to 2.40 million, while domestic traffic fell 4% to around 710,000. Overall traffic remained 12% below October 2019.
Stockholm Arlanda recorded its busiest October for international travel, handling 1.86 million international passengers, up 2%. Its total traffic remained broadly unchanged at 2.23 million as domestic numbers declined 8%. Göteborg Landvetter also achieved an October international record, with 482,501 passengers, up 6%, helping total traffic grow 4% to 529,190.
Regional results were mixed. Malmö’s passenger numbers increased 12%, driven by international growth, while Visby and Kiruna grew 9% and 8% respectively. Luleå matched its pre-pandemic traffic level.
Swedavia’s winter 2026/27 programme includes new connections from Arlanda to Shanghai with China Eastern and from Landvetter to Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airways. Malmö’s additions include Ryanair services to London Stansted and Wizz Air flights to Podgorica and Pristina.
