Frankfurt Airport (FRA) handled 5.6 million passengers in May 2025, a 1.8% year-on-year increase. Cargo rose 4.4% to nearly 179,000 metric tons, while aircraft movements were up 5.7%.
Globally, Fraport Group airports saw a 6.0% rise in passenger traffic, totalling 16.8 million. Notable gains included:
- Ljubljana Airport: +13.5% (151,849 passengers)
- Fortaleza & Porto Alegre, Brazil: +132.3% (1.1 million), rebounding from last year’s POA flood-related closure
- Lima, Peru: +6.3% (2.2 million)
- Greek regional airports: +1.0% (3.7 million)
- Burgas & Varna, Bulgaria: +24.1% (222,806)
- Antalya, Turkey: Stable at 3.9 million
