Fraport Group has released its traffic figures for November 2025, revealing a significant upward trend in global air travel. Total passenger numbers across the Group’s actively managed airports rose by 6.4% year-on-year, reaching approximately 11.0 million travelers.
Germany’s largest aviation hub served 4.8 million passengers in November, a 4.0% increase compared to the same month last year.
Leisure Demand: Extended fall vacations in Bavaria fueled high demand for Mediterranean destinations, with Italy (+16.4%) and Greece (+10.9%) leading the growth.
Business Travel: Traditional business routes saw a strong resurgence, particularly to Switzerland (+13.6%), Austria (+9.4%), and France (+8.0%).
Logistics & Operations: Cargo volumes rose by 4.7% to over 186,000 metric tons, while aircraft movements increased by 4.0% to 36,237 takeoffs and landings.
Most of Fraport’s international airports reported positive growth, with several regions showing double-digit increases:
Brazil (+31.1%): Combined traffic at Fortaleza and Porto Alegre reached 1.2 million. This sharp rise is partly attributed to a recovery period following the flood-related closure of Porto Alegre in 2024.
Bulgaria (+38.0%): The Twin Star airports (Burgas and Varna) saw the highest percentage growth in the portfolio.
Slovenia (+17.5%): Ljubljana Airport continued its strong recovery with over 105,000 passengers.
Greece (+8.8%): Fraport’s 14 regional Greek airports served nearly 1 million travelers.
Turkey (+3.7%): Antalya Airport remained a major hub with 1.8 million passengers.
