Avinor reported continued passenger growth in March 2026, driven primarily by international travel, which increased by 6.4% year-on-year, while domestic traffic rose by around 2%.

Despite higher passenger volumes, aircraft movements fell by 2.4% to approximately 58,400, indicating improved load factors with more passengers per flight.

The impact of the Middle East conflict on traffic remains limited so far, although Avinor cautions that future demand could be affected by security concerns and rising fuel costs.

Bergen Airport recorded the strongest growth among major airports, with passenger numbers up nearly 6%, including a 13% surge in international traffic.

The transition to summer schedules is expected to further boost activity, with new and returning routes across the network. Meanwhile, drone operations also increased slightly, reflecting seasonal trends as weather conditions improve.
