WOW air will fly to Orlando, Florida. The Icelandic low-cost airline offers three flights per week from December 18 to the Fun Capital of the World. With theme parks such as Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Legoland, Orlando is one of the most popular destinations in Florida. Amsterdam and Brussels will both have a good connection to flights to Orlando. Flights are available from 129.99 euros for a one-way trip.
On December 18, the inaugural flight will take place from Iceland to Orlando International Airport, the largest international airport in the region. This route is carried out three times a week with an Airbus A321neo, the newest type of WOW aircraft. It is a seasonal flight that will last until the third week of April 2019. Orlando is one of the best winter destinations, with average temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius in December and January.
From both Amsterdam and Brussels airports, flights to Iceland depart at 11.35. The connection in Iceland takes less than three hours outbound and less than one and a half hours on the way back. Total flight duration is 14.5 hours outbound and 12 hours on the way back. With a small airport and a shorter stopover, WOW air can offer a more efficient transfer at a favourable price, without sacrificing comfort and good service.
Affordable Christmas holiday
Skúli Mogensen, founder and CEO of WOW air, says about the network expansion: “Orlando is a very popular destination among Dutch and Belgians. Orlando offers sun security and warmth all year round, ideal for the winter months. Our first flight is just before Christmas, so we hope that we can offer many people an affordable dream vacation. Our ambition is to make travelling across the Atlantic available to everyone with our low prices. ”
WOW air is growing fast
The Icelandic airline is also growing fast this year. Since April of this year, WOW air flies to Detroit and since May seasonal flights to Cleveland, Cincinnati and throughout the year to St. Louis. Orlando becomes the 16th destination of WOW air in North America. In addition to flights with a short transfer, it is also possible to combine flights to Orlando with a stopover of a few days in Iceland without additional ticket costs.
