Wizz Air has officially opened a new operational base at Warsaw–Modlin Airport, marking its sixth base in Poland and reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country.
The airline has stationed two Airbus A321neo aircraft at Modlin and launched 11 new direct routes to major European destinations: Barcelona, Athens, Bergamo, Bergen, Malta, Sofia, Brindisi, Alghero, Paphos, Chisinau and Palermo. With the expansion, Wizz Air will offer more than 500,000 seats annually from Modlin and nearly 219 routes across Poland.
The new base supports significant regional growth, creating 80 direct aviation jobs and up to 700 additional roles in tourism and services. Airport representatives highlighted the milestone as a major boost to Mazovia’s connectivity and economic development.
Wizz Air, which has carried 128 million passengers in Poland since 2004, emphasised that the new base strengthens both its network and its future presence in the Polish market.
