The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air, which initially announced the cancellation of flights from Ljubljana to Brussels for this winter season, will continue to fly this winter. Flights to Brussels South Charleroi Airport will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from December 19, according to Slovenian newspaper Finance.

Initially, Wizzair announced the termination of the Ljubljana-Brussels South connection for the 2019/20 winter season because the route, as reported in August by Fraport Slovenia, which operates from the airport in Brnik, did not meet the carrier’s expectations. It then announced the resumption of flights on 31 March 2020.

Following the bankruptcy, on 2 October 2019, of Adria Airways which flew daily to the Belgian capital, Brussels Airlines, which is part of the Lufthansa group, announced its return to Jože Pu?nik Ljubljana Airport six times a week as from 4 November. Now Wizzair also announces flights to Brussels in the winter season.
