Wizz Air will station two additional Airbus A320ceo aircraft at its Chi?in?u base in December 2025 and March 2026, bringing its total to five and cementing its position as Moldova’s market leader.
The expansion adds six new routes – Hamburg, Turin, Frankfurt Hahn, Nice, Prague, and Copenhagen – while boosting frequencies on popular services including Brussels, Larnaca, Bologna, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, Dortmund, Memmingen, and Verona. In total, Wizz Air will offer 34 routes to 16 countries from Chi?in?u, providing over 3 million seats in 2026.
CEO József Váradi called the move “a new chapter” for Wizz Air in Moldova, highlighting affordable fares, greater connectivity, and new jobs. Moldova’s Prime Minister Dorin Recean praised the decision as a step that “brings us even closer to Europe,” while Chisinau International Airport welcomed the airline’s growing role in expanding the nation’s air links.
The expansion will also create 100 local jobs and stimulate Moldova’s economy through increased tourism, trade, and business travel. Tickets for the new routes are already on sale from €19.99 via wizzair.com and the WIZZ app.
