Warsaw was one of the first airports in the WIZZ network. Since its first flight in 2004, WIZZ has constantly expanded its operations bringing opportunities through affordable travel to an ever-growing number of Polish passengers. In the first 6 months of 2019, Wizz Air already carried more than 4.5 million passengers on its low-fare Warsaw routes.

Wizz Air now has over 300 customer-oriented crew and eight aircraft fleet based at Warsaw Chopin Airport, currently comprising of 1 Airbus A320 and 7 Airbus A321ceo aircraft. With 230 seats on board, the Airbus A321ceo is one of the most fuel-efficient, single-aisle passenger aircraft. Its superior operating economics means that WIZZ can offer more low-fare seats to even more destinations while maintaining an incredibly low noise footprint and emissions level.

Wizz Air constantly develops its route network. The newest destination accessible from Warsaw is Edinburgh in Scotland, which together with Vienna, Bordeaux, Eilat, Marrakesh, Bucharest and Reykjavik and others create a great and diverse low-fare choice of 46 routes to 25 countries from Warsaw. In total, Wizz Air now offers 178 routes to 28 countries from its 8 Polish airports.

Paulina Gosk, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: “We are delighted to celebrate this memorable milestone with Chopin Airport. Warsaw was one of the first cities where Wizz Air started its operations. During 15 successful years, over 20 million passengers have flown with WIZZ to and from the capital of Poland. Warsaw is one of the most rapidly developing cities in Europe and we are happy that we can contribute to this by delivering affordable travel to and from this vibrant capital. This year we launched several new routes, bringing even more low fares and opportunities to Poland. With our modern and young Airbus fleet in Warsaw, we remain committed to our Polish customers and keep on delivering low fares paired with excellent customer service. Whether travelling on business or leisure, our crew looks forward to welcoming our passengers on board.”
