Wizz Air closed calendar year 2025 with robust growth, record passenger numbers and measurable improvements in reliability, reinforcing its focus on operational performance and customer experience.
During the year, the airline added 42 new aircraft, operated nearly 335,000 scheduled flights and launched more than 320 new routes. Passenger demand remained strong, with 68.6 million travellers carried, representing a 9.4% year-on-year increase.
Alongside expansion, Wizz Air strengthened operational performance. The airline achieved a 99.61% completion rate, one of the highest among major European carriers, while punctuality also improved, with 73.38% of flights departing within 15 minutes and 77.98% arriving on time. These gains were supported by targeted initiatives across maintenance, ground handling, crew planning and operational control.
CEO József Váradi described 2025 as a “defining year,” highlighting the combination of rapid scale-up and improving reliability. Looking ahead, Wizz Air plans to accelerate growth in Central and Eastern Europe and expand further into underserved markets, while continuing to invest in fleet renewal, digital tools and operational excellence.
With strong momentum entering 2026, Wizz Air aims to build on its 2025 performance and deliver a more resilient, punctual and customer-focused operation for 80+ million passengers across Europe and beyond.
