Wizz Air is reinforcing its network between Western Europe and the Caucasus by combining new Eindhoven and Brussels South Charleroi routes with a wider strategic expansion in Armenia, including additional aircraft and new destinations.
Eindhoven–Yerevan Route Confirmed
- 3 weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
- Aircraft: Airbus A321neo (239 seats)
The route targets strong VFR (Visiting Friends and Relatives) demand, particularly among the Armenian diaspora in the Netherlands and surrounding regions.
Broader Expansion in Armenia
At the same time, Wizz Air announced a major scale-up at Zvartnots International Airport:
- A third based aircraft from October 2026
- Expansion to 18 routes across 10 countries
A second new route was also unveiled:
- Yerevan – Brussels South Charleroi Airport
- Launch: 1 February 2027
- Frequency: 3x weekly
Strategic Positioning
This dual announcement highlights a clear strategy:
- Strengthening East–West connectivity between the EU and the Caucasus
- Leveraging secondary airports like Eindhoven and Charleroi for cost-efficient growth
- Building Yerevan into a mini-base operation, rather than just a spoke destination
? Bottom Line
The Eindhoven–Yerevan route is not an isolated addition—it is part of a coordinated expansion of Wizz Air’s Armenian network. With additional aircraft, new Western European links, and growing frequencies, Yerevan is emerging as a key node in Wizz Air’s evolving pan-European network.
