Maastricht Aachen Airport (MST) and Wizz Air have expanded their long-term partnership with the announcement of a new winter route to Bucharest, launching in October 2025.
This marks Wizz Air’s third destination from MST, alongside Chisinau (winter 2025) and Katowice (summer 2026), and is expected to attract up to 40,000 new passengers annually, contributing to an estimated total of 134,000 passengers per year.
The five-year agreement supports MST’s goal of becoming a more regionally connected and sustainable airport. Wizz Air, recognised for its low-emissions fleet and industry-leading environmental performance, reinforces its commitment to expanding smart, direct connections within Europe.
Airport and airline representatives hailed the move as a milestone for both regional growth and sustainable aviation.
