Fans of the Hungarian national football team playing in the Euro 2016 tournament in France still have an opportunity to buy a seat on Wizz Air’s special football flights, but the supply is getting smaller, particularly now that individual match tickets have gone on sale to the public.
Wizz Air announced in December three special flights from Budapest to France in June to get Hungarian fans from Budapest to the team’s three group stage matches. The airline will operate direct flights between Budapest and Lyon, Marseille and Bordeaux on an Airbus A321, landing in France each game day before 14:00 hrs and returning to Budapest after the game before 24:00 hrs. Tickets are available only as a return package and can be booked at wizzair.com.
WIZZ AIR’S 2016 FRANCE ROUTES FROM BUDAPEST:
Destination | Date | Time |
Bordeaux | 14 June 2016 | 10:35 from BUD 23:55 from BOD |
Marseille | 18 June 2016 | 11:40 from BUD 23:55 from MRS |
Lyon | 22 June 2016 | 11:40 from BUD 23:55 from LYS |
Gabor Vasarhelyi, Communications Manager for Wizz Air said: “The long awaited matches of the Hungarian national team are fast approaching and we are delighted to offer a unique opportunity for the fans to support the squad on spot. Using our special flights is just like going to the game in a private jet since we leave Budapest in the afternoon and come back after the game. The main differences are the size of the aircraft as we’ll be using a new Airbus A321, and the price of the flight which, with Wizz Air’s low fare philosophy, is still affordable. Our introductory fares sold out quickly and the number of seats gets smaller every day, but prices are still a great value. The flight, the game, the experience – all once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.”
